ASEAN Tourism Forum

Myanmar will be hosting 34th ASEAN Tourism Forum for the first time in January 2015. MTF proudly supports this 34th annual meeting which will take place from 22 to 29 January 2015 at the Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar's capital.

The theme 'ASEAN - Tourism Towards Peace, Prosperity and Partnership' follows the theme of Myanmar's ASEAN Chairmanship in 2014 and is based upon the three pillars of building the ASEAN Community - peace, prosperity and unity.

 

It is expected that ATF 2015 will attract over 1,500 attendees from more than 40 countries, including senior tourism ministers and officials, top ASEAN exhibitors, international buyers, local and foreign media, as well as travel trade visitors.

 

Miss Myanmar International Contest

Since 2012, the MTF has hosted the Miss Myanmar International Contest, the objective being to promote tourism by having a suitable contestant from Myanmar in the Miss International Beauty Pageant.

 

Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) & International Labour Organization

MTF, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and GIZ, Germany undertook an Institutional Assessment for MTF and its 11 associate members. Executive committee members of each association were interviewed. After assessing the interview results, a series of workshops and training sessions have been planned for 2015, targeting the specific needs of each associate member.
